Anco N24R Narrow Refills - 4R" Review

(More customer reviews)These blade refills work very well, having a metal clip on one end that locks into the windshield wiper arm bracket throughly. The rubber blade is secured to a plastic guide which in turn slides into the windshield wiper bracket. Be sure to get the right length, as the rubber blade is held to its plastic guide by indentations into the plastic at the end opposite the metal clip. Trimming off an overly long blade results in the rubber sliding out of it's plastic guide. The online selector tool states that these do not fit my 2002 and 1994 Camry sedans, which is incorrect. The default generic picture is also incorrect. It shows a blade with a bracket; these are rubber blade refills only, without a bracket to snap on to an arm.

I searched around and found floors mats costing $90 and above that promised to do everything but change my car's oil. Then I stumbled onto this brand. I researched the brand, read the reviews on Amazon and found reviews online to make sure that this wasn't a waste of $20.
Now that I have them in place in my Subaru, I could not be any more happier! They stay in place thanks to the pegs, they offer great salt, mud and clumps-of-ice resistance and at all times and in all conditions these mats provide protection for my car's interior while provided a rubbery surface that provides more than enough grip without sliding or getting in the way of my shifting gears.
Let me put it this way: you cannot afford not to buy these mats! they are at the right price, fit all the applications that I know of and they are sure to last forever without bugging you with sliding around.

This one is a new version, March 2009 release.
1. In-Built Bluetooth works fine and plays music directly from Iphone without having to connect any wires to it. No hissing nor static noise in the back ground. Audio from Bluetooth is crystal clear.
2. Rear view camera(bought a 40 USD camera from Amazon and hooked it up by myself), DVD player, FM(16 presets), all works as advertised.
3. Cheaper (270 USD) when compared to Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD with Blue tooth which comes to atleast 420 USD.(with the steering wheel interface)
4. I got Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD (just for comparison) and this unit and tried both of them in my Honda Pilot to check how it works and did not see any difference in quality.
5. Bought a soldering Iron(15 USD) and soldered all the wires by myself. (saved 60 USD in installation charges).Instruction manual provided is more than sufficient to do it.
6. Prompt customer support via email when you register in their website.
I hope the quality of this product lasts for a long time.

1. Connected the Dimmer to the parking brake to make the DVD play in the front panel as well.
2. Had to connect the rear view camera trigger wire to the back up light system.
3. Need to connect the rear view camera video output to the CAM input.

I installed a set in my 2002 Honda CRV. One burned out in about 4 months and I don't have running lights. A call to Sylvania customer service gave a offer to send a new set if I returned the burnt out bulb with the sales reciept. OK thats nice, 2 for 1. Very generious,however the second set did not last any longer. Another call to C.S. This time the rep. was more helpfull or should I say truthful. I was informed that some makes of vechiles such as Honda and BMW, as well as other forgien makes run as high as 15 volts to the headlights causing premature failure of the Silver Star and Silver Star Ultra bulbs. Therefore Sylvania does not recomend them for these cars. Now they tell me.
I have had a set in my Chrysler T&C van for over 2 years. No problem.
Check with your dealer if your car is not US and save yourself money and aggravation.

(More customer reviews)Simple little device that is very flexible. The radio reception AM and FM is good both in the city and on the highway. Music from the SD card is the easiest way to use the "mech less" device. Be aware that the unit is limited to 16gb, not a real limitation with the SD card but I have an older generation ipod that is 20gb and it will not play through the USB port. However, I can use the auxiliary port with the ipod just fine. The built-in amplifier is not terribly powerful but does put out some good sound in my 1988 VW Vanagon which has a big interior space. I need to turn up the volume control almost all the way if I want it to play loudly. But there are jacks on the unit to connect an external amplifier. Hey, what can you expect for $40. All in all, I am quite satisfied and think that you get a lot of basic features for a cheap price. We shall see how it's long term durability is in a few years but I assume since it's all electronic (hence the term mech less)that there's not much that can go wrong from a wear standpoint. I would highly recommend this unit as a strong value and candidate to replace/upgrade any stock unit in your car.

Hopkins 48935 Modular Tail Light Converter W/Replaceable Extension Review

(More customer reviews)It works as it said it would, and works on LED lights like it said it would, for a five-wire system, and using the "extra" cable, you can make a long connector to make it really easy to hook up to a to a too-short pigtail on a trailer tongue. Smart. It is cheaper than a similar model in the stores and you can't get this combo with the spare pigtail, in stores, I looked and looked. Must be a factory to dealer option only. I probably will wind up wiring my land rover with another as it too has the five wire "European" lighting setup. If you only need the four wire setup, try Walmart. If you need the five wire setup, this is perfect. I am going to buy one for my motorcycle, which of course is five-wire by nature of the signal lights being out on stems.
You might opt to get small sized wire nuts, although the supplied connectors will work but I think they are a little "iffy" if the wire gets tugged hard. Or solder and cover with electrical tape to be extra sure....buy it, it's a gem.

Metra 99-7309 Hyundai 95-06 Dash Kit Review

(More customer reviews)This dash kit is a solid kit for the Hyundai Santa Fe. Two things to note however, this kit requires the DIN bracket that I believe comes with most head units when you by them in the retail box. You need to have it, as there's no way to attach the dash kit to the stereo. My head unit came with one when I bought it (off amazon). I did not need it for my previous car, but I did need it for this dash kit and luckily I kept everything.
Also the pocket is actually designed to hold CDs (up to 3 regular jewel cases). There's fins on the side of the pocket to hold cd's as you slide them in. Great if you want to have a couple of CD's available, although they would be in the ever convenient "steal me" position. It does somewhat hinder the use of the pocket for other things, but I'm sure most people would be ok with it.

Valeo R-14H Rear Wiper Blade Review

(More customer reviews)This did not fit a Mazda 3 rear window. Both are 14" but the mounting point is in a slightly different location than the stock arm and it won't go on. I had to remove the rubber insert and reinstall it on the OEM arm. Unfortunately, I broke part of the OEM clip trying to install this before pulling the rubber part out and using the stock piece. For the price, I could have bought a couple of larger refills and just cut them with a pair of wire cutters or metal shears, and been set for the life of the car. Not worth sending back because of shipping. I would recommend you just get a refill, cut it, and slide it on the stock arm.

Sirius One SV1 Satellite Radio with Car Kit Review

(More customer reviews)A friend of mine gave me an Amazon Gift Certificate for Christmas and I used it to buy this little Sirius radio. Though other radios have more bells and whistles I am very happy with this one.
First of all, price-wise it cannot be beat. It includes everything you need to use it in your car (mounting bracket, power cable that plugs into the car lighter, antenna, remote control). At this time there doesn't seem to be a home kit for it. That was not a deal breaker for me since I was planning to really only listen to it in the car anyway. Plus, when you joing Sirius you can listen to all the music channels online.
Though this is a simple unit, it does include some nice features. There are presets that work great. You can set the display to show the channel you are on or have it scroll to tell you the artist and title of the song that is playing.
It has a built-in transmitter that transmits over the car's FM radio on an unused channel. This has worked great for me and I think the sound is very good. I did need to change the FM channel it was transmitting to (easy to change and you can have up to five presets for this as well) once or twice but once I found a truly open station it was crystal clear. It should be noted that I live in LA which is a very crowded radio market. Still I was able to find a clear FM slot to tune the Sirius radio's transmitter to. If you are not in a major market that should not be a problem at all, and really wasn't that big of a deal for me here in LA.
I think it is a sharp little unit and very solid. I am happy with it and if you are looking for a nice, low price unit this is a great choice. I am also very happy with the Sirius service. The music channels are great and I enjoy the sports and talk radio.

Bosch 15730 Oxygen Sensor, Universal Type Fitment Review

(More customer reviews)I ordered one of these for my 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid when the check engine light code told me that the zone 1 oxygen sensor in front of the catalytic converter was bad. I checked the Amazon pulldown menu to be sure it fit my car, and it does - but learned later that this one is for behind the catalytic converter. I installed this sensor and the check engine light never went out. I checked and rechecked my wiring with a meter and my connections were fine. The check engine light came back on immediately after erasing the code with a code reader that I ended up buying to troubleshoot the problem.
When I finally called Bosch, they told me that I need a different type of continuous sensor for the front sensor, and this one only works BEHIND the catalytic converter on my car. The industry calls oxygen sensors in front of the converter "upstream", and those behind the converter "downstream". Most auto parts retailer sites ask you if you want an upstream or downstream sensor, but not Amazon.
You should use the vehicle search on a site like Autozone or O'Reilly to check if this is the correct sensor since many vehicles have more than one oxygen sensor, and they may be different models. I wasted a lot of time sorting this out, and have driven my car for weeks with poor fuel economy (and may have damaged my catalytic converter) because Amazon didn't ask me which of the sensors I needed.
