(More customer reviews)I bought this for my wife's 1999 Corolla. At first, when locking the device, it would not actually lock onto the gas tank. I determined that the sliding mechanism of the cap itself did not have sufficient lubrication to actually slide, and simply allowed the cap to be unscrewed, whether it was locked or unlocked.
After using some silicone spray under the cap, it appears to have enough lubrication to actually function and lock the cap in place. When locked, trying to remove it only allows the cap to spin freely, as intended. When unlocked, it is very difficult to unscrew the cap. So much so that my wife is contemplating returning the item.
These two issues cost a star apiece. Otherwise, it functions as intended. My only worry now is that, after the lubrication dries, it will simply unscrew again whether locked or unlocked.
