(More customer reviews)When you first look at the specs and some reviews on other sites, it looks like a good deal. But when I hooked it up to some quality component speakers, the mids weren't too crisp and the highs were just plain annoying. This was utilizing the components' crossover to attenuate the highs -3dB, too. The equalizer was pretty basic and couldn't compensate for the poor sound. I tried every setting to make it sound good, to no avail.
While all of that was going on, I also realized that it didn't play all of my mp3s. With some of them, it would skip forward a few seconds. I don't see how you advertise it as an mp3 compatible head unit, but then the manual tells you it may not work with all homemade CDs. That's complete crap. If it doesn't play mp3s like it should, don't advertise that it does, while burying a disclaimer in the manual.
I got fed up with it and put in a better head unit. Problem solved. From here on I'll spend my money on better name brand products and avoid Dual like the plague.
And Amazon was totally cool on refunding my money for this piece of junk.
